Genmaicha is a traditional Japanese green tea blend made by combining steamed green tea leaves with roasted brown rice, creating a warm, toasty, and comforting flavour profile that has been enjoyed in Japanese households for centuries. Genmaicha is crafted by taking high-quality green tea leaves (typically sencha), steaming them to preserve their fresh green character, and blending them with brown rice that has been roasted until aromatic and golden. Mezame Genmaicha is sourced from Kagoshima in Kyushu, Japan - an origin celebrated for its fertile, nitrogen-rich volcanic soils.
