Hōō Living creates everyday objects from recovered waste streams and responsibly sourced materials, designed with circularity at their core — inspired by the Japanese Phoenix, and the idea that the most beautiful things can rise from what was overlooked. Hōō Living is a brand that treats sustainability as a design philosophy, not a label.
The Afterword is a notebook range that carries its story in its materials.
Its pages are made from 100% recycled, unbleached paper that is made using cellulose recovered from used sanitary napkins that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill or been incinerated.
Its cover is Tree-free Brown Coffee Husk Paper, made by upcycling discarded coffee husk with fabric offcuts from the apparel industry.
Nothing here began as a tree.
Made for Everyday Use
It opens completely flat, and stays open.
At 80 GSM, the pages take ink without complaint. It is best suited for daily writing, planning, and note-taking.
The paper is clean, odour-free, and fully processed — the origin of the cellulose is invisible in the final product.
