Manipur Black stone pottery is an exquisite art form that has survived the test of time. Locally available Serpentinine rock is mixed with a weathered rock to a clay-like consistency, which is then hand patted to give shape to a wide array of cookware and serve-wares. Post-sun drying, these wares are baked at a temperature ranging from 900-1200 degrees Celsius. A quick rub of Chiron leaves and what you have is a piece of black stone pottery with striking good looks
